Geothermal Test Drilling and Exploration for the Lower Post GeoHEAT Project

Lower Post (Daylu) , British Columbia is located on Highway 97, the Alaska Highway, approximately 23 kilometers south-east of Watson Lake, Yukon Territory. It is home to the Daylu Dena Council (DDC). The population of Lower Post is approximately 300.

The GeoHEAT Project goals are to:

  • Increase capacity and provide meaningful employment opportunities for the Nation and the Kaska Dena.

  • Explore for geothermal resources near Lower Post to provide a source of renewable energy.

  • Collect key data to understand resource type, distribution, and characteristics of the geothermal resource.

This project is 100% Nation and indigenous-owned.

Barkley Project Group will provide project management and technical expertise, collaborating with Hardline Exploration, Paycore Drilling, and Western Water Associates to ensure successful drilling and robust environmental protection. This project represents a significant step towards sustainable energy solutions for the community.
