Geothermal Canada Student Awards; Deadline Extended

Geothermal Canada 2022 Student Scholarship Program

Application deadline extended to June 15, 2022

For students enrolled in a geothermal studies program at a Canadian institution, we are offering two scholarships:

  1. Geothermal Canada Student Scholarship

    This is an award to recognize the best student research project that will advance understanding of geothermal resources or resource production. One student will be awarded $1000 and a one year membership to Geothermal Canada. A research proposal must be submitted to Geothermal Canada by June 15, 2022. The proposal must not exceed 300 words, and must outline the student’s current geothermal research at a Canadian institution. A Canadian research focus is suggested but not mandatory. The proposal may be in English or French. Please include your name, contact information, school, year of study, and degree program.

  2. Geothermal Canada Student Conference Support

    This is an award to assist a student enrolled at a Canadian institution with conference and/or travel fees to attend a Geothermal Canada supported conference (GACMAC, CSPG, Geothermal Student Conference, IAH-CNC, CGS*). This award recognizes the best student presentation at a conference outlining new research that enhances understanding of geothermal energy resources, novel techniques for geothermal development, or new exploration tools. A Canadian research focus is suggested but not mandatory. One student will be awarded $500. A proposal not exceeding 300 words must be submitted to Geothermal Canada at least one month in advance of the conference. The proposal may be in English or French. Please include your name, contact information, school, year of study, and degree program.

The winner will be announced at the 2022 Geothermal Canada AGM TBD in June, 2022.
