Overview
The Government of Alberta has announced the planning and development of the Alberta Drilling Accelerator (ADA). The ADA is a collaborative effort led by Eavor Technologies, in partnership with the Canadian Geothermal Energy Association (CanGEA) and the Canadian Association of Energy Contractors (CAOEC). This initiative represents Canada’s first geothermal drilling technology incubator and an open-access platform for the global geothermal community to congregate, test and commercialize new drilling technologies.
To maximize the economic and environmental opportunities the geothermal sector poses, advances in drilling technology will be required to harness heat associated with deep-hot rock. The ADA provides a mechanism to develop and test novel drilling technologies enabling geothermal applications in Canada and abroad.
