New Weekly Course Being Offered by Geothermal Canada

 
 

In response to requests from our membership, Geothermal Canada has pulled together a group of experts to provide a comprehensive course on geothermal development. Covering basic technical concepts to commercial and financial considerations, the course will be presented as 16 one hour sessions delivered weekly on Wednesday’s at 12pm MT. Hosted by Dr. Catherine Hickson, P. Geo, a 40 year veteran of the geothermal industry, she will draw from the expertise of notable geothermal experts such as Dr. Steve Grasby, Geological Survey of Canada, Dr. Jasmin Raymond, INRS Quebec, Dr. Maurice Dusseault, University of Waterloo, Dr. Martyn Unsworth, University of Alberta, and others.

Yellowknife Geosciences Forum - Nov 20-22, 2018

The 46th Annual Yellowknife Geoscience Forum will be held in Yellowknife, NWT from Tues Nov. 20 - Thurs Nov. 22, 2018. Of the several sessions covering a range of topics, including the Energy in Canada's North sessions, which is co-chaired by Kathryn Fiess, Manager, Petroleum Geosciences, Northwest Territories Geological Survey and David Mahon, Manager Energy Projects –Infrastructure. 

Reception, Meeting, & Honourary Awards on June 19

Geothermal Canada is having a special General Meeting to honor Tim Sadlier-Brown, Andrew Nevin, and Alan Jessop for their significant contributions to the geothermal industry. 

Low Carbon Economy Challenge

Honourable Catherine McKenna, Minister of Environment and Climate Change launched the Low Carbon Economy Challenge, a major new federal funding program. Environment and Climate Change Canada officials and other federal colleagues with funding programs will be holding information sessions across Canada starting the week of March 19.

Resources for Futures Generations (RFG) 2018

We would like to alert all interested researchers in this important event coming up in June.  Steve Grasby has organized and is convening sessions focused on geothermal energy and Jasmin Raymond will be giving a short course.
