Julian McDowell

Julian is based in Calgary with Jacobs as the Geothermal Resource Lead for North America. He has over 12 years’ experience working in the geothermal industry. His experience has been split between consultant (Jacobs, NZ and UK 2010-2016) and operational roles (Contact Energy, NZ 2017-2022) with involvement on projects in New Zealand, Indonesia, Africa, North and Central America and the Caribbean. His role with Contact Energy was Reservoir Lead for the 168 MWe Tauhara Geothermal Power Station development in New Zealand; responsible for resource assessment, delivery of fuelling requirements, collaboration with surface facilities team and interim management of the drilling team during a 15-month drilling campaign.
